A great swing comes down to efficient, well-timed movement through the entire body from setup all the way to finish.
Restrictions, weakness, or imbalances in one part of the body can cause a chain reaction of poor movement patterns that can result in a mishit, inconsistent swing, or potential injury. The Florida Institute of Performance/Leadbetter Performance Program can not only identify these weaknesses, but prescribe exercises to correct and strengthen them to create efficiency and consistency in your swing. Our Performance Program is designed to get you moving better, playing longer, and staying healthier.
Heading up the golf training programs at ChampionsGate are former Director of IMG Academy’s International Performance Institute and former PGA of America Director of Fitness, David Donatucci. Donatucci brings 26 years of experience in training top-level athletes including players from the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, LPGA, PGA and Olympic medalists. Along with a Masters in Education, Donatucci is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), a member of the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Advisory Board, a Subject-Matter expert in fitness and golf for the PGA of America, and is involved with The First Tee Nine Healthy Habits program. He now is the Owner/Director of the Florida Institute of Performance in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and is an active contributor to the Leadbetter Golf Performance program.
Aaron Schultz, MS, will also be performing evaluations and training sessions at the Leadbetter Academy World HQ in Championsgate. Schultz has a long history as a multi-sport athlete, playing soccer, basketball, and track and field, as well as a Masters Degree in Kinesiology from Indiana University. He has extensive experience in coaching elite junior athletes, and now serves as the head trainer for the Leadbetter Junior Golf Academy Full-time students as well as seasonal campers.
Golf Performance Programs
All Leadbetter Golf Performance training programs begin with an evaluation to identify weaknesses, imbalances, and misalignments in the body. Based on this evaluation, a program is built specifically for you to correct any issues found, while increasing strength, stability, and mobility throughout the body. Our goal is to increase stability and movement efficiency throughout your swing, while preventing injury in the process. Whether you are interested in a single corrective session or a long term training plan, programs can be customized to fit your training needs and goals. Upon completion of your first session, online options are available to allow you to continue your training wherever you are.
Evaluation and Corrective Training Session
This 1-hour evaluation session includes an in-depth swing and movement evaluation, and detailed instruction in corrective exercises based on the results of the evaluation.
Strength Training Session
This 1-hour training session builds off the evaluation and corrective training, incorporating more strength, power, and mobility exercises to develop stability and better movement patterns throughout the body.
Junior/Youth Training Session
Many experts view the ages of 12 – 18 as the most ideal ages for developing speed, strength, and power over an athlete’s entire lifetime. These programs are designed to promote proper movement patterns early on in the athlete’s career.
Planning on staying in the area for an extended period of time, or looking for a long-term training program? Programs can be customized to fit your schedule and training goals.
Upon completing an initial training session with our Performance Specialist, you can continue your program on your own, wherever you are. Your specific corrective exercises will be built into a customized online training program for you, allowing you to continue making progress even when you can’t train at the academy.
