Golfzon Leadbetter University to team up with Royal Spanish Golf Federation to Support Instructor Training Curriculum
CHAMPIONSGATE, Fla. July 6, 2020 – Golfzon Leadbetter University is proud to partner with the Royal Spanish Golf Federation (RFEG) to provide current and aspiring Spanish instructors a supplemental course to complement their current coach education curriculum.
Over the past few years, Leadbetter Golf Academy (LGA) has implemented multiple new ventures that allow coaches around the world to better their instruction from the comfort of their home. Golfzon Leadbetter University, the first online platform to encompass all aspects of golf education, delivers a holistic course offering following David Leadbetter’s trusted teaching philosophies. The University platform is developed by industry experts to provide established instructors with additional support, and aspiring instructors a way to gain certification and a community of support.

The Royal Spanish Golf Federation is one of the most active and well-known European federations, with regards to coach education and training. The Federation’s curriculum puts each coach through various levels of learning before reaching professional teaching status. They ensure personal and professional growth, enabling coaches to become the best teachers possible. For David and his team, this shared mindset is what created a natural fit between these two entities, and it will remain the foundation of a thriving and successful long-term partnership. It is an honor and a step in the right direction for Leadbetter’s passion to help provide more learning resources to instructors worldwide, ultimately growing the game of golf.
“We are very excited to announce our official partnership with the Royal Spanish Golf Federation starting in 2020. This year has proven to be full of challenges, but we at Leadbetter are convinced that coming together and supporting each other in the face of adversity is what real teamwork is about” said Stuart Clayton, Head of Education and Certification for Leadbetter Golf Academies.
“The RFEG has put in place, for more than a decade, a plan to professionalize the golf industry supported by three fundamental pillars: golf facility managers, greenskeepers, and coaches. In this sense, the RFEG has a training plan structured through three levels to achieve the title of High-Performance Coach, ensuring the personal and professional growth of teachers, allowing them to become the best teachers in the sector. This training and qualification program granted by the RFEG has obtained the highest recognition from the “Confederation of Professional Golf” in Europe, which places it among the best in the world. My role, Director of the National School of Sports Coaches of the RFEG, stresses the importance of this agreement with the Leadbetter Golf Academy, which will undoubtedly raise the level and capabilities of coaches in Spain to carry out their work with the support of updated training contrasted by the best professionals in the sector, “said Enrique Martín Durán, Training Director of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation.
“I am proud to see two organizations, that I know very well, working together to further the game through improved instructor education. Leadbetter has partnered with a great team of experts and I believe their program will be a great addition to Spain’s efforts in growing the game of golf, “said Spain’s Rafa Cabrera Bello, PGA Tour winner and long-time student of David Leadbetter.
Becoming an official education partner of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation embodies the core values of Golfzon Leadbetter University by supporting other industry leaders and collectively raising the global standard of coach education.
