Every two years since 2008, Golf Digest surveys mentors, students and peers from around the country to compile a list of the Best Young Teachers in America. For the ’18-’19 edition, two LGA Orlando Instructors stand out among the crowd – and for one, this is his second time earning the honor.
Brett Meyer, Senior Certified Instructor and Master Club fitter, garnered the second honor of his young career.
“I am certainly proud to be recognized again by Golf Digest. It is confirmation that I’ve made solid decisions regarding my career. I have surrounded myself with great mentors and colleagues to push me to continue to improve my skillset for years,” Meyer said. “I’m grateful to be able to coach at such a prestigious academy and surround myself with a friendly, family-like environment that we’ve created here at LGA Orlando.”
Earning the award for Best Young Teachers for the first time in his career is Txema Sanchez, Director of the Leadbetter Junior Golf Academy (LJGA). Sanchez has racked up over 20 years of experience in the golf industry, so this award is well-deserved. He has worked alongside David for years but only recently joined LJGA’s team when it was founded in 2016.
“I am proud to be a part of this prestigious list, it is an achievement that allows me to see that I’m making a difference to the game and helping to grow the love of the sport from the junior level,” Sanchez said. “A large reason I was able to garner a spot on this list is due to my players success. It makes me proud to see them performing well and happy that I was able to help them continue to grow their game.”
A well-deserved congratulations goes out to both Brett and Txema from the whole LGA family.
