Zach Parker Coaches DP World Tour Pro Teddy Tetak

Watch Leadbetter-certified coach Zach Parker work with DP World Tour Pro Teddy Tetak! They work on the push of Teddy’s shot, as well as holding his follow through and footwork.

Zach serves as the Junior Academy Director at GOLFZON Leadbetter Academy in Orlando, FL. With over a decade of experience coaching, Zach cultivates the best environment for learning for golfers of all ages and skill levels. He has extensive knowledge of the golf swing and has developed golf training programs that combine golf swing mechanics, physical competencies and effective practice.

Teddy Tetak currently plays as a pro on the DP World Tour and is the first Slovak to qualify for the Tour. He played for golf for the University of Central Florida before going pro in 2022. Teddy has played in over 200 golf tournaments across his career, and he and Zach share a close relationship improving his golf game.

Swing Assessment

In the video, Teddy is pushing his shot — the ball goes right of his target line, which can occur due to a misaligned clubface, swing path, or early release.

Zach analyzes Teddy’s swing technique, looking at his clubface orientation and swing path relationship upon hitting the ball.

Technique Breakdown & Drills

1. Clubface Awareness:
The importance of clubface control is one of Zach’s main notes. Even the slightest change at impact can lead to a meaningful push or pull.

2. Modifying Swing Path:
Teddy works on refining his swing path, aligning it more accurately with the target plane. Changes in his takeaway and downswing from Zach help keep the ball back on track.

3. Drills:
This lesson incorporates a mix of practical tips, real swings, and practice exercises. Zach uses feel-based drills to strengthen Teddy’s clubface awareness and release timing, including:

  • Slow-motion swings with focus on face feedback.
  • Impact alignment checks using training aids (and Zach’s own body!).

Coaching Strategy & Philosophy

Holistic Guidance:
Rather than force dramatic changes, Zach makes deliberate adjustments—balancing input with Teddy’s natural motion to preserve his rhythm and feel.

Feel and Facts:
This lesson shows how feel-based directives (like Zach saying to “sense the face closing slightly”) is just as importance to consistency as showing numbers and figures for mechanical fixes.

Pro-Level Adaptation:
Zach and Teddy’s work together shows how the best coaches should customize feedback to athletes, building upon their golf foundations rather than starting over. Personalized lessons and detailed explanations are a foundation of teaching for GOLFZON Leadbetter Academy instructors.

In Conclusion…

This live lesson is a reminder that even pro players struggle with perfecting their swing every time they play. The solution lies not in overhauling a swing entirely, but in targeted refinements delivered with precision and proper instruction.

For both coaches and their students, Zach’s work with Teddy shows how to diagnose, address, and correct common ball-strike issues—without losing the essence of a player’s game.
